Tucson Today | Jocko Weyland

$25.00

Tucson Today is a new book by Jocko Weyland containing a selection of photographs taken in Tucson between 2013-2015, along with texts by him and others reflecting on the images. It began as an online newsletter by where two photographs were sent to a small audience bi-weekly. Over time, the newsletter’s audience grew, but the structure of sending two pictures remained the same.

Nondescript buildings, ditches and washes, diners and bars, and the ever-present Union Pacific railroad are common subjects in Tucson Today. Devoid of people, the photographs capture the quietness, scale, and oddities that dot the city of Tucson. Not much has changed since 2016, but also plenty has - Tucson Today is both a historical record and a timeless musing on a place that many of us know.
